This is a FANTASTIC LEGO set – By Roman Gitlarz on November 30, 2014
Don’t get me wrong, this is a FANTASTIC LEGO set. I love putting it together and it looks sooooo good when it’s finished. My only complaint is that it uses very few traditional LEGO elements. Most of the pieces are technic pieces and these are not nearly as much fun to put together for me as the traditional bricks. Nevertheless, the model is beautiful.
You might have missed out. – By K. McCauley on April 3, 2013
This set is now discontinued, which means the first initial speculation has already begun. In November 2012 I bought one for $230. I wish I’d bought more, but I thought they’d be around longer.
Just looking at the price jump in the past few months, you can see this is an iconic and sought-after set. It will only increase in value in the future, so there’s a justification to be made that buying it now and hanging on to it for a year or two is a sound investment, even though you missed out on the initial upswing. Unless LEGO re-releases this kit, which is highly unlikely, the price will never go down from where it is today. There are few investments you can make where you can promise yourself you’ll at least break even.
Great product – By Marcela on February 1, 2013
The Imperial Shuttle is one of the best Legos I have put together. The price is going to go up because it has been retired recently but what I paid for was worth it. The bags didn’t have numbers so I had to use a lot of bowls to get the organized but I had a great time doing it.
