A very cool new look for the classic Star Wars ship – By Justin G. on March 7, 2016
Poe’s X-Wing Fighter is one of the best-looking sets from the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens Lego line. This is a new version of the classic Rebel spaceship (with a cool new color scheme some more subtle improvements over previous versions), and features four fun minifigures – Poe Dameron, a Resistance Pilot, a Crewman and (best of all) BB-8.
Complexity: There are 717 pieces in this set, and a lot of them are smaller pieces. Technic elements also play a huge role in this set, making it a complex build. Figure about two hours to build this. I’ll say this much though, it’s a lot less complicated than Luke’s old X-Wing Fighter from a few years back.
Playability: I bought my son Luke’s X-Wing Fighter a few years ago, and he used to get very frustrated with how quickly the wings would fall off. There are no such issues with this new X-Wing Fighter. It’s just as functional, with wings that open and close into attack position, but it’s so much more durable. This is a set your kid can actually play with.
I never would have thought the X-Wing Fighter could look any slicker, but here you go. This is a beautiful Lego set, and is both a great looking display piece and a fun set to play with. If you’re a Lego Star Wars fan, this is a must-have, and if you’re looking to buy a good-sized gift for a Lego Star Wars builder in your life, it’s hard to beat this set.
Nice set – By Bob on March 1, 2016
Great X-wing model, unique colors. Does have some stickers that cover multiple pieces, but that doesn’t stop it from being a good set. 6 projectile firing mechanisms, so watch the eyes. If you’re looking for an X-wing, get this one if you can.

The shape is excellent and Lego did an excellent job recreating the X-Wing’s design. The glossy black and orange pieces are very striking.
Like other people are saying, the pieces come in 5 separate bags, with smaller bags inside those bags. The instructions say when to open each bag, so I think it would be a better challenge to have all the pieces in one large bag.
Continues the Legacy of X-Wing Fighters! – By Charles A. Bailey on December 7, 2015
This is one of the best constructed X Wing Fighters lego has ever put out.
– Black and Orange Color Scheme
– Mini Figures are detailed and look like the characters they will portray
– Ladder and Cart Accessories allow you to simulate a pilot climbing into the cockpit, repair an X-wing, transport pilots to the X-wing, and load torpedoes
– 4 Laser Launchers and two torpedo launchers
– Cockpit has place to hold pistol, as well as a seat and joystick for Poe
– Printed Cockpit Piece
– BB-8 easily fits into Socket Behind Cockpit
– Mechanism to easily have wings in attack position or for normal flight.
– $80 is too pricy and this really is more like a $50 – $60 set
– A few stickers which are annoying to put on. Why can’t lego do more printed pieces?
– Engines fall off on back sometimes
– Blue rubber bands really stand out with the black, orange, and dark grey pieces.
If you are concerned about the price, I would wait and purchase this set when the price goes down. Otherwise I would recommend getting this set if you like star wars and the X-Wing in particular, as I feel kids will like the laser and torpedo projectiles.

Design is superb!!! Building the nose on this product was a shocker to me. when you first start to build the nose, you dont know where the instructions are taking you. Then it just hits you in the instructions and you realize the level of engineering genius these lego creators go through! The S-foils are fantastic. Minor qualms are the stickers as they are at times small and unwieldy. Great set though.
Our first The Force Awakens Lego set – By Myron T. on October 19, 2015
This is a great lego set. My son and I work on them all the time, I probably have over $1,500 worth of Star Wars lego sets in my office now (taking the place of my library of books on my book shelves). This set was our first from the new The Force Awakens movie and he was delighted to get it in the mail from Amazon. It took him several hours to put together (he is 5) but he did it all by himself with the directions.
